Forensic Anthropology is the application of biological/physical anthropology applied to the medicolegal aspect of investigations.
Forensic scientists play an important role in the trial process, more commonly in criminal trials, as an expert witness. Expert witnesses not only testify on the findings but also give opinions based upon the results derived from the analysis of evidence that was collected from the crime scene. These opinions are typically of scientific nature with forensically sound backing as a proof.
The University of Florida College of Pharmacy moved up two places to No. 3 in the nation for total research funding in the latest American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, or AACP, report released June 23. The No. 3 ranking is the highest ever achieved by the college when compared to peer institutions.

The Forensic Science program said goodbye to two of its founders and original faculty members, Ian Tebbett, Ph.D., and Donna Wielbo, Ph.D. Both of them were early adopters of online education, who saw its potential to advance the careers of working forensic scientists and other professionals.
Alumni Joseph Pasternak has worked in forensics for nearly 20-years. He began his career at the City of Phoenix Police Department Crime Lab after completing his bachelor’s degree in biology from Arizona State University. He then moved onto the State of Montana Forensic Science Division where he now serves as the DNA Supervisor and Technical Leader.
The University of Florida College of Pharmacy has received the 2021 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity, or HEED, Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. It marks the first time the college has received the award, which is presented annually by the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.
